Changes to Our Firm

From 1 July 2013, Amanda Farmer will be commencing her own practice, Lawyers Chambers on Riley, with Robert Van Aalst taking on a consulting role in Amanda’s practice, which will operate from the same location as Lawyers Central’s offices – 98 Riley Street Darlinghurst.

This is an exciting next step for both Amanda and Robert. As many of our long-standing clients will know, it has been on the horizon for some time.

Current clients please note that unless directed otherwise by you, we will be transferring your current file(s)held by Lawyers Central to Lawyers Chambers on Riley. If there are funds held in Lawyers Central's trust account on your behalf, unless otherwise directed by you, those funds will be transferred to Lawyers Chambers' trust account. If you would like these funds transferred to anywhere other than to Lawyers Chambers, please inform us as soon as possible.

Robert has known Amanda Farmer since she was at school and he has mentored her since she started studying law. At first she worked with Robert casually during semester and full time during the semester breaks. This continued until graduation when Amanda completed her law studies with first class honours. In addition to excelling academically, Amanda has many years of practical experience and Robert cannot recommend her highly enough. She is an excellent lawyer, highly regarded by her peers. Her experience includes working in many jurisdictions including NSW Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, District Court and Local Courts and Tribunals. She is a skilled advocate. She has experience dealing with commercial matters, including joint ventures, partnerships generally, and business law generally. Amanda has a specialist interest in strata and community titles as well as property law, which includes purchases, sales and leasing, both residential and commercial. She also practices in the area of employment law. Amanda has also worked in liquor licensing and in areas affecting registered clubs and pubs.

Behind Amanda is a young team who you will already be familiar with –Georgia-Kate, Savina, Bianca and Hallie. As mentioned above, Robert will also be taking on a consulting role within Amanda’s practice.
